4.1 Sign Up:
E-mail Alias:
An e-mail alias is not a real e-mail account. It is an address that forwards
all e-mail it receives to a generic e-mail account. In the example below, any
e-mail sent to ecommerce@myco.com.au will be received by PersonB@hotmail.com.
People use e-mail aliases instead of personal e-mail addresses because they’re
usually easier to remember than a person’s name, and they help reinforce the
service or product – ie marketing@myco.com.au
. Generic e-mail aliases also mean that if an employee leaves your
organisation, there’s no need to change the e-mail alias or republish the
contact details – you simply redirect the e-mail alias to the new staff member.
